Worcester County District Courts: Snow Hill and Ocean City
Worcester County is one of the few Maryland counties with two District Court locations. This is a direct result of Ocean City's size and seasonal population. Both courts handle DUI first appearances and misdemeanor proceedings, but they serve different parts of the county.
The District Court in Snow Hill is at 208 W. Market Street, right in the county seat. Phone: 410-352-3035. This location handles DUI cases from inland areas of Worcester County. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM year-round. If you need DUI records from a case that happened inland or in the off-season, this is the court location to contact.
The District Court in Ocean City sits at 6505 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, MD 21842. Phone: (410) 723-6935. This location runs extended summer hours during tourist season to handle the spike in DUI cases and other charges that come with the influx of visitors each summer. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, but summer schedules may differ. Check the District Court directory for Worcester County before visiting to confirm current hours. DUI arrests made on the Ocean City boardwalk, along Coastal Highway, or at summer checkpoints all flow through this court.
Ocean City DUI Enforcement and Worcester County Records
Ocean City generates a significant share of Worcester County DUI cases each year. DUI arrest reports from the Ocean City Police are separate from the court record. To get a copy of an Ocean City police report, file a Public Information Act request with the department. The department has up to 30 days to respond. For court filings from those same arrests, use the Maryland Judiciary Case Search or visit the Circuit Court clerk in Snow Hill. Both the court record and the police report may be needed if you want the full picture of a Worcester County DUI case.

What Worcester County DUI Records Contain
Worcester County DUI records include the charging document, docket sheet, plea and sentencing records, and any related hearing transcripts. The charging document names the statute, usually Transportation § 21-902, and describes the alleged violation. The docket shows every action taken in the case from filing to final disposition. Sentencing records list penalties imposed, any probation terms, and license actions.
Worcester County DUI records are public as a general rule. Anyone can request them, not just parties to the case. Some narrow exceptions apply, such as cases involving juveniles or materials sealed by court order. But for standard adult DUI cases in Worcester County, the charging documents, dispositions, and docket entries are open to the public under Maryland court access rules.

Maryland DUI Laws That Apply in Worcester County
All DUI cases in Worcester County are prosecuted under Transportation § 21-902. DUI at a BAC of 0.08 or higher carries up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine on a first offense. Twelve license points apply. A second offense within five years brings a mandatory ignition interlock requirement. A third offense can mean up to three years in jail. DWI at 0.07 BAC is a lesser charge, carrying up to two months and 8 points for a first offense. Ocean City's summer enforcement posture means these rules get applied frequently at DUI checkpoints and traffic stops along the Coastal Highway corridor.
When a Worcester County DUI arrest involves a breath test failure, the officer confiscates the driver's license on the spot. A 45-day paper temporary license is issued, and formal license suspension starts on day 46. Drivers who want to challenge the suspension must request an MVA hearing within 10 days of arrest. For questions about license records or suspension status, the MVA has resources at mva.maryland.gov. For statewide criminal history information, the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is at dpscs.state.md.us.
Note: Penalties for transporting a minor while impaired add an extra $1,000 fine and up to one year in jail on top of the base DUI sentence, under Maryland law.
Expungement of Worcester County DUI Records
Maryland's expungement statute at Criminal Procedure § 10-105 covers Worcester County DUI cases. As of October 1, 2024, individuals who received probation before judgment on a DUI charge may petition for expungement after 15 years have passed. A PBJ means no conviction entered, so the person avoided a criminal record at the time. Expungement removes even the PBJ from public court records. Outright DUI convictions, where a guilty verdict or plea was entered, do not qualify under current Maryland law.
To file for expungement of a Worcester County DUI record, petition the court where the case was heard. For Ocean City District Court cases, the petition goes to that location. For cases that moved to the Circuit Court in Snow Hill, the petition goes there. There is no fee. The State's Attorney has 30 days to respond. Plain-language guidance on the full DUI and DWI process in Maryland is at peoples-law.org.
